Kerala Flood relief fundraising
In August 20018, Kerala was hit by a monsoon resulting in the worst floods in nearly a century. Over 480 people died and about a million people were evacuated. MANOFA immediately organized an “Eat for a good cause” event at the local Hindu temple premises to collect fund to help Kerala. Members overwhelmingly participated in this event by donating their time and money to cook and sell traditional south Indian food. The event was a phenomenal success. We raised a total of $29,900 from food sale and donations. All the proceeds that was raised from this event was donated to the flood affected families through various charity organizations in Kerala.
